Boeing puts an end to DEI department

The Boeing Company has joined the ranks of companies dumping their DEI policies and dismantling their DEI department. The company, which has been caught up in ongoing labor strikes over wages, beefed up its DEI initiatives following the death of George Floyd in May 2020 — pledging to increase overall black employment by 20% by 2025. Last year, Boeing reported that it had increased black employment by 17% since 2020.

However, Boeing seems to be hitting “delete” on DEI initiatives as it faces financial troubles , signaling a shift away from the ‘Woke’ agenda. The Aerospace company had come under fire from Elon Musk for prioritizing DEI over safety and quality controls after an Alaska Airlines flight had a near-catastrophic blowout.

“Boeing remains committed to recruiting and retaining top talent and creating an inclusive work environment where every teammate around the world can perform at their best while supporting the company’s mission,” the company said after news broke that it will scrap its DEI department.  As the woke agenda continues to come under scrutiny and public backlash, particularly on social media, corporate America is gradually moving away from DEI initiatives and policies.
