Ballantynes department store went woke with a special “beauty” event, hosted by a drag queen called Queen Jack (pictured)

Headquartered in the mainland city of Christchurch, and established in 1854, Ballantynes is New Zealand’s oldest department store – so you’d think they’d be much less woke than other retail stores?
